Today began the 2008 MLB season with the Boston Red Sox Vs. Oakland A’s in Japan’s Tokyo Dome.  It was 4 to 4 in 9th inning until the  Boston scored 2 runs at the top of the 10th and Oakland could only answer by scoring 1 run.  The final score was Boston 6, Oakland 5. 

Manny Ramirez struck the winning pose by hitting his second 2 run double in the 10th inning.  Manny, of course thought it was a 3 run homer which is just Manny being Manny.  As he dazed into space and admired his ball from the batter’s box as Julio Lugo was running his tail off from second base to finally score at home. 

Manny is just 1 of 4 Red Sox players in the past 50 years to have 4 RBI’s in Boston’s opening game.
